Tarkhan Muzaffarov — European Champion in the +110 kg category, and a Youth World Champion. An armwrestler who competes under the Azerbaijan flag at every event, representing the national team.
Tarkhan Muzaffarov is the athlete who has brought Azerbaijani armwrestling its biggest successes in recent years. He trains as a member of the Sərhədçi sports club and has been named an exemplary athlete by the Azerbaijan Armwrestling Federation (AQGF).
In May 2024, at the 33rd European Championship in Bratislava (Slovakia), he won gold with his right arm in the +110 kg category, bringing Azerbaijan its first medal in this weight class in 10 years — defeating opponents from Italy, Georgia, Ukraine, Hungary and Bulgaria.
Tarkhan began his career at youth level, winning gold with his right arm at the 2022 World Championship (+90 kg, Youth) to earn the title of World Champion. Today, among seniors in the +110 kg class, he is one of the few Azerbaijanis competing against the international elite — including well-known names like Denis Tsyplenkov and Tobias Sporrong — and became the first Azerbaijani armwrestler invited to the elite "East vs West" tournament.
